  • Balanced data for threshold* model

    Dear all

    im working on my phd thesis and i use the threshold model, but i can not run the command because of unbalanced data
    i tried many propositions but is the same


    one of the problem i got, using stata14.2

    -xtbalance- is from 2008 - very old; further, you did not use as directed in the help file (e.g., there should not be a space between "range" and "("; I'm not sure what you mean by a "threshold model" - what command do you want to use; the vast majority (maybe all) panel data models in Stata do not require balanced data; if you really do require, you might look at

      thnanks for your intervention

      for the threshold model the command is "xthreg"

      when i run it, i get that msg " need balanced panel" even i have " strongly balanced data

        clearly I don't have your data to try; I note, however, that you have a space between "qx" and "(" which you should not have; second, a quick look at the ado file makes it clear that this message can be given if there are missing data for any of your variables that unbalance your data - do you have any such missing data? -misstable- might help here

          yeah there are missing data
          i correct it but here i have other wrong messege
          with stata14.2 always i get " unknown egen function ".
          Like here, even i did not use that " sd()" function,
